A Review of AFI
Thank the music gods that the band did not continue on route with where Decemberunderground had led us. Part of what makes this band so fantastic is how each new album is evolved but for me "underground" was a misstep and a failure. I hated it. Crash Love has restored my faith that this band can continue in new routes while still being grounded in the familiar and deliver.
Still though - I would love to hear a new album that turned the clock back an hour or two and presented us with the ferocity albums like "Black Sails" and "Drowning" contained...or even just a single track reminiscent of something like "A Single Second" but am still very content with what we are given on "Crash Love".

This album has gorgeous music, but I must agree with Blair that I'd feel a lot more in love with it if it included something with the kind of sound they had back then. It's no monstrosity or terrible album, it's music, just... new AFI music. Even with this album I'm sure everything before Sing is still going to be played more.

I would have to say that AFI's new album is definetly something very different then december underground and sing the sorrow put together. I luv the fact that it has this anonymously great vibe and introverted sense of feeling. The fact that they can literally make each album sound different is something u do not find in common day bands. So they may not have a feel of their old stuff or their screams like even december underground had but hands down it has lived up at least to my hype and im sure to milliones of other fans. I cant wait to hear what they come up with next and im anticipaiting that already. AfI leaves u music struck and in need for more of their vibe, time and songs. Daveys lyrics and far off beats as well as ideas make me desperate and whole heartedly eager for more. AFI leaves u thirsty and begging for more. One can never get enouph of AFI.
